Our Rugby Field Proposal (Click Here)
Since the early 1970ís rugby has been a part of the community in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Hundreds of men and women have lived, breathed, and played the sport of rugby, dedicating themselves to the extreme lifestyle. This dedication has led former players to organize, coach, and fund many rugby teams in the Kalamazoo area. The following are the current teams in the area: The Kalamazoo Rugby Football Club (Menís), The Western Michigan University (Menís), The Western Michigan University (Womenís), The Kalamazoo High School (Menís), and The Otsego High School (Menís).
Many of these teamsí alumni have stayed in the Kalamazoo area and continue to be a positive part of our community. They have raised their families here, started and run their businesses here, and have always strived to make our city a better place to live. The effort, time, and funds that every player and supporter puts into our rugby club has always paid dividends! When ruggers move into the Kalamazoo area, they often seek out the local rugby team, and they are never disappointed by what the Kalamazoo rugby teams has to offer.
Today, the exciting direction of rugby is extremely positive. In the last 15 years the total rugby players in the area have doubled to around 160 active players. We've seen the start and extreme successes of the high school programs. The Otsego "Bulls" and Kalamazoo "Bull Dogs" are both clubs that have been started by previous members of the KRFC Menís team. Between the two teams, they have already won two state championships!!!

Our rugby community in Kalamazoo has always had a dream of owning their own field. For many years, rugby has been played downtown at Upjohn Park, but recent developments around that area have made the location unavailable.
The goal of this campaign is to raise funds to buy and build a dedicated facility to promote and harbor the sport and culture of rugby in our community. A piece of property has already been located and we are currently closing on this transaction in late summer of 2015. We are very excited to build and maintain the kind of playing facility that will push the limits of rugby success both on and off the field.

With your help, a 45 year dream can become a reality. This will set fire to a culture that already exist and thrives in the Kalamazoo area. We feel this will immortalize rugby in Kalamazoo and strengthen our future players, with deeper roots and tighter bonds.
As we are a non-profit and strictly volunteer organized, all money donated will go directly into our rugby facility construction. We are completely transparent and will provide timely updates, with accounting. Please help us turn our dream into a reality by donating to the campaign. Please see the attached plans for more information. Thank you for your time.
